This course is designed to educate Pilates instructors on how to effectively work with students who have scoliosis. It covers the basic anatomy of scoliosis and specific exercises tailored to individuals with the condition. The course includes both theoretical and practical components, with a focus on teaching exercises using various cues, props, and equipment.


Objectives:

- Learn the definition of structural versus functional scoliosis
- Learn the mechanics/structure of scoliosis

-Learn exercises to address and minimize the curves and create elongation with a balance of mobility and stability-

-Learn how to use props and cuing to address the needs of clients with scoliosis

-Be able to use the session format and Pilates System to create programs for your clients with scoliosis


Why should I take this session?

As Pilates instructors we work with people who have all kinds of muscle imbalances whether structural or caused by life. It is important to be able to see and address these imbalances with confidence. The more you understand the pathology of the client the easier it is to meet their needs. Less is more. Knowledge is power.


Equipment Needed: You can watch and take notes and then use the recording to try the exercises on your equipment or you can be in your studio and use whatever equipment you have during the live session. Great idea to have some various pads/cushions.

Credits: 3 CECs

Cancellation Policy:

No refunds will be issued. If you are not able to attend, you will have access to the recording for 60 days after the virtual session.
